Junior B League - Co semi final

posted 25 Jun 2014, 08:56 by Robert O'Connell

Our county league semi-final opponents Feohanagh proved tough competition last night in Clarina. Their sprightly corner forward scored 1-2 very early on in the game and we found ourselves trailing 1-4 to 0-2 soon after. However, some Tomas McLoughlin frees narrowed the gap ahead of half-time; at which time the score read Feohanagh 1-7 Doon 1-6. Our goal came from wing forward Kevin Lenihan.

The second half was slow to pick up some pace but we were on fire with goals when we did get going. The first came again from the stick of Kevin Lenihan, the second was a Shane McKenna shot, which the goalkeeper deflected into the net and the third was from Seamie Ryan in the 28th minute. Seamie also had 2 points in the half and 1 from top-scorer Kevin Lenihan. Final score Doon 4-9 Feohanagh 1-9

So the county final will be Doon v Blackrock this Friday evening (27th) at 7.30pm in Kilmallock.
