There’s never more than a score or two between these sides but Doon were just 3 points better than Pallasgreen in the East Junior B League last night.
There was plenty of action from start to finish, both on and off the ball, and when the scores came they were well fought-for and well taken from Doon’s perspective.
One early goal and one late goal (Kevin Lenihan) with just 3 points in between from Rob McLoughlin (2) & Brian Fenton told the tale of the first half for us; while Pallasgreen put 5 over the crossbar from play.
This halftime lead of 4 points (2-3 to 0-5) set us in good stead for the constant lead we kept in the second half thanks to two long-range frees from full back Tom Murphy and points by Brian Sheehy and Seffie O’Donnell.
This was Doon’s 6th out of 7 games in the competition and was a much needed win over their close neighbours. With just two losses recorded in the competition this year, it’s now all to play for with just a home game remaining against Ballybricken next week.
