Doon G.A.A. has actively been involved in the development of a new Hurling and Handball Alley and Outdoor Hurling wall. This development is the largest undertaking by our club since the development of our new ground at Toher Road, Doon in 1995.

It is hoped that the new facility will allow the club to improve the skills and participation of every one of our members but especially for our Juvenile club. The facility will also be available for use by both the C.B.S. and Mercy Convent Secondary schools in Doon whom we are delighted avail of our facilities to promote hurling and camógie in Doon and the surrounding parishes. The new facility will also allow the club to continue coaching and improving the skills of all our players over the long dark autumn and winter months.

The cost of this new project for the hurling club is approximately €90,000. This sum is a major undertaking for the club however we are committed to achieving our aims and hope that you will support this venture. We have decided to host a Race Night to raise some of the necessary funding and this will take place in “The Local” public house Doon on Saturday 4th December.

It is hoped that every member will be able to help out with the fundraising before before and after the night. If you know of any businesses who might kindly sponsor the night in any way and in return receive advertisement in the race night race card then please contact any member of the committee or John R Walsh through our secretaries email address secretary.doon.limerick@gaa.ie
